St Lawrence State School is located 177km north of Rockhampton and 155km south of Mackay. We operate as a Kindergarten - Year 6 school.
As of 2019 our school offeres a Remote Kindy Program, we have a composite class setting (integrated delivery of a kindy program in a classroom where full-time education is being deliverd to school children).
We have variours technology in which we use to help all students succeed - we have 1 computer for every child, the use of ipads to adapt to student learning needs and a low ration of staff to students during prime learning time.
We believe that every child deserves the right to thrive and we aim to provide that at St Lawrence State School. In the past year we have used school resources to provide our students with swimming lessons from professional trainers, access Little Athletics in Sarina, attend numerous cluster events with our neighbours - Marlborough State School, Clarke Creek State School, Carmila State School and Milman State School. These events have been both academic and sporting in nature.
Our students come from various backgrounds. Students are the children of council workers, fisherman, drive-in-drive-out workers and graziers. When students attend St Lawrence State School they are provided with a skill set to tackle challenges in everyday life.
We implement the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People which helps our students to understand how to manage their emotions to positively impact themselves and those around them. We also have a chaplain at our school who regularly conferences with our students.
St Lawrence State School aims to provide the best education possible for our students so that every student can succeed.
